Anyone who visits Western
Australia's Margaret River region can't stop talking
about the place afterwards. This drive takes you
straight through it. The drive starts
at Busselton, an aquatic playground that is widely
admired as one of the state's most beautiful seaside
spots. It then continues to the sandy retreat
Dunsborough, nestled on a quiet cove near the
impressive Cape Naturaliste.
Naturaliste is the perfect vantage point for
watching whales swim past as they migrate around the
coast line of Australia.
Only a short drive away, the town of Yallingup is a
popular holiday destination in the heart of the
stunning Margaret River wine country. This area is
home to wineries, breweries, restaurants, galleries,
and arts and crafts shops.
As you drive through the Margaret River area, be
sure to stop at the area's famous wineries and
sample some of the local produce. (Remember to
sample responsibly if you're the designated driver.)
And while you're in the area, take the opportunity
to experience a little adventure. You can go rock
climbing and abseiling, caving, snorkelling, and
wind surfing - and that's just a few of the
activities on offer.
Then, why not finish your drive at the place where
the Indian and Southern oceans meet? Visit the
picturesque town of Augusta, set on the magnificent
Cape Leeuwin. |
